How GeoCopy handles personal data across accounts, content workflows, CMS integrations, billing, and AI processing.

Effective date: May 25, 2026

Introduction

GeoCopy ("GeoCopy," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at https://geocopy.io and related applications (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our marketing site, create an account, connect a CMS, generate content, or otherwise interact with the Service.

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. For contractual terms, see our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

We collect information in the following categories:

Account and profile information. Name, email address, password (stored via our authentication provider), organization details, billing contact information, and preferences you set in the portal (brand voice, publishing settings, notification preferences).

Content and workflow data. Brand briefs, voice documents, sample URLs, RSS feeds, keywords, article drafts, outlines, metadata, internal links, campaign definitions, approval history, and content you choose to publish through connected CMS integrations.

CMS and integration credentials. When you connect WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Ghost, or other supported platforms, we store connection credentials or API tokens necessary to publish on your behalf. Credentials are encrypted at rest and used only to perform actions you authorize.

Payment information. Subscription plan, billing history, and invoice metadata. Payment card numbers are processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Usage and technical data. IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, feature usage, API calls, error logs, pipeline job status, and timestamps. We use this data to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

Communications. Messages you send to support, feedback, and records of our responses.

Free tools. If you use public tools (for example keyword ideas, GEO score, or answer capsule generators) without an account, we may process the inputs you submit and associated technical data to deliver results and prevent abuse.

How we use information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate users and enforce account security
  • Run research, drafting, SEO/AEO/GEO validation, and publishing workflows you request
  • Connect to third-party CMS and research APIs on your instructions
  • Process subscriptions, trials, usage-based charges, and refunds
  • Send transactional emails (account, billing, publishing status) and respond to support requests
  • Monitor performance, debug failures, and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
  • Send product updates or marketing communications where permitted by law and your preferences (you may opt out of marketing emails)

AI and automated processing

The Service uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to research topics, generate and revise text, produce images (on applicable plans), score content for SEO/AEO/GEO signals, and format output for your CMS.

To perform these functions, we send relevant portions of your inputs (for example brand context, keywords, outlines, and draft content) to third-party model and infrastructure providers. Those providers process data according to their own terms and policies. We configure providers to avoid using your content to train their public models where such options are available.

You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated output before publication. Generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your jurisdiction or industry without human review.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the Service, including hosting, authentication, databases, payments, email, background jobs, observability, and AI inference (for example Supabase, Stripe, and cloud infrastructure partners)
  • CMS and publishing platforms you connect, solely to publish content you approve
  • Research and media partners when you use features that call external APIs (for example keyword or SERP data, stock imagery)
  • Professional advisors (lawyers, accountants) under confidentiality obligations
  • Authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, and security
  • Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required by law

Service providers are permitted to use data only to perform services for us and must protect it consistent with this policy.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After cancellation, we may retain certain data for a reasonable period to:

  • Complete pending publishing jobs and billing reconciliation
  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
  • Meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements
  • Maintain aggregated or de-identified analytics

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data as described below. Some logs or backups may persist for a limited time before automatic purging.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption for sensitive credentials at rest, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for safeguarding your account password and API keys.

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@geocopy.io immediately.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete personal data (subject to legal exceptions)
  • Export portable copies of certain data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

To exercise these rights, email privacy@geocopy.io or use in-app support. We may verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond within 30 days where required by law.

California privacy notice

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know categories of data collected, request deletion, and opt out of certain sharing. We do not sell personal information as defined under California law.

Submit requests to privacy@geocopy.io. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

International transfers

We are based in the United States. If you access the Service from other regions, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. We use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required for cross-border transfers.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, and to remember preferences. Essential cookies are required for the Service to function. We may use analytics cookies to understand how the marketing site is used.

You can control cookies through browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may limit your ability to log in or use the portal.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may be notified by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
